Hi there, i am willing to bet that you are one of the people who rejoiced a great deal yesterday when news of the capture and killing of the ex Libyan leader Col. Maumer Gadahfi were aired on the news. Don't get me wrong I am elated by the fact that Libyans can resume their lives and try to pick up the pieces.Furthermore, anyone who possesses the evil to turn on their own countrymen and murder them for standing up for their rights to be treated as human beings is, quite frankly not fit to for leadership. But having said that, i am starting to question (truth is, i started being concerned a while back but have now reached fever pitch) the role of the Americans in world politics, i mean not only do they have the have the UN right were they want them, but they also do anything they please to anyone they have a probem with and at any time they see fit. It matters not whether you're interested in politics, the fact that some nation which quite frankly will cease to be the dominant superpower sooner rather than later, goes about bombing and shooting up defenceless nations and perturbs the relatively normal life that people in those countries are used to as if it was still the "glory" days of the Roman Empire, is very disconcerting to put it mildly. And Just who is the US accountable to?. from where I am sitting (yes i am sitting, i am not just using this phrase for convenience) it seems as if bullying nations into submission instead of policing its unruly corporate sector which behaves as if it were a hungry guide dog going about searching for food to feed itself instead of worrying about the blind person placed in its care. The USA's rogue antics, especially in regions which possess considerable oil wealth must not only be questioned, but the powers that be must act decisively and swiftly in reminding the folks at the Pentagon that they are a part of a global village and simply cannot carry on acting like a student who is smugly satisfied of being the smartest student in a class of the dumbest bunch in school.Whatever noble intentions they might claim drive them when attacking and reeking havoc and displacing multitudes of people, the US and its cronies should be alerted to the fact that we see through their so called "fighting for the greater good". And their pretence is further demonstrated by situations such as Zimbambwe, if the US is concerned by the unjust treatment of people, then why won't they aid Zimbabweans by ousting that ruthless tyrant Mugabe? I'll tell you why, it's simply because there is nothing in it for them! And whether it' Bush or Obama one thing is for sure, America behaves as if the world owes it something. Nisalekahle.
